I work in purchasing and my job entails purchasing stock from the far east. As the year has started I have been handed a sales spreadsheet which consists of sales values and quantities month on month for the last 2 years as well as year on year for the last 4 years.
I would like to know how to forecast stock quantities for the next year month on month using excel. Also bear in mind I will also need to hold buffer stock etc. Also I need excel to help me analyize and report any sales trends etc. We launch new products every june so I need to gain a better understanding of which lines are serving there cause and which lines are not also using excel.
Now although I use excel frequently I regret to say I am not too familar with all the functions despite studying guides and learning from tutorial software.
If you believe I can get much more information than stated above from excel then please feel free to suggest.
