save and retreive a cell properties

I want to save all the properties of a cell ( not just it's value) , change it, run my macro and then return to previous status.
I tried to use "Set" to assign it to an object but I can not assign that variant to the cell afterwards.

You could copy it to a spare cell then copy it back afterwards.
