Hi everyone,

If you open a brand new Excel spreadsheet, then click on the "X" -out icon, the file closes without any further ado. However, if you enter any input and repeat the X-out action, it will display a message whether you want to save the changes.

I'd like to use the same approach on a Workbook we are presently using (which, upon clicking on the "X", it displays the message whether or not there was any input).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chuck

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
you'll only get that message if something in the file changes. if you have a volatile function in a cell (e.g. =TODAY()) you'll get that message.

Bingo, Neil!!!

In effect, my spreadsheet dates itself upon opening...

Thanks a bunch!
