Is it necessary to unprotect a worksheet containing a chart in order to have VBA code rescale the chart? I am trying to force a scale change using VBA code and I find that it only works if the chart is unprotected.

Is there a workaround without needing to unprotect and protect the sheet after every calculation

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Set the DrawingObjects argument to False e.g.
Code:
ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=False

This will allow you to edit the chart while the sheet is protected.

With this code entered, I now get prompted for a worksheet password for the chart worksheet/ This defeats the purpose of what I am looking to do.

Anyone have another suggestion?
