Hi,
I am making an excel scatter chart for a school project, everything is done except the labels I would need to appear on my horizontal axis would be classes: 0, [1,2], [3,4], [5,7], 8+

At the moment, I have numbers simply: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to represent the classes.

Is there a way to make the proper labels appear?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Use a Line chart (rather than a XY Scatter chart) and you can have any text in the X values.

If you must use a XY Chart, you will have to simulate the effect. Add a dummy series which will have all y values as zero.

Then, add data labels for this new series with the desired labels. Locate the data labels below the data points, hide the default x axis labels, and format the dummy series to have no line and no marker.
