My boss has asked me to create a standings report for our customers for an award we're giving at the end of the year.

On that report I have various data, but he has requested a scatter plot that show their total score compared to other customers. What makes this challenging is that there are 3 sets of customers group 1, 2, & 3.

Sheet 1

Customer 1 50 points Group 1
Customer 2 35 points Group 2
Customer 3 55 points Group 2
Customer 4 48 points Group 1

Sheet 2
Report card with drop down combobox for each customer to print and deliver

In this report, I would want the scatter plot only show scores for other customers in the same group. We have several hundred customers accross 3 different groups.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
I need help creating the scatter plot.

I have the data and scores calculated on a seperate sheet. Each customer may wind up in one of 3 categories. I want to only chart those customers in their respective category.

I would also like to highlight their dot on the graph.

I can do a traditional scatterplot, but I do not know how to do create one showing one specific category and omitting the other categories.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think you just need to set up your source data, to pull data for each category into a separate area, and then set up three charts, one for each category.
