Am in the process of creating duty roster spreadsheet for running staffs who travel to different places for days and their duty hours is calculated based on their journey time to and fro.so I need this spreadsheet to calculate hours for a week based on the different places they travelled. OL - Online.Total hours per week should be calculated as H -8 Rest - 0,Place 1 start -2 and so on
My spreadsheet looks like this
DaysWeek 1Week 2Week 3
SunHArrivalRest
MonRestRestH
TueHHDeparture place 2
WedHHOL
ThuDeparture place 1EOL
FriOLEOL
SatOLEArrival
Total Hours per week

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
I think it would be helpful if you would provide an example. I really do not follow your statements or the matrix you provide.
Also, the xl2bb add in would provide formulas in addition to the data. Please use that (link below) to share your data, if possible.

Thanks in advance.
