Scrape table from PDF?

I have some PDFs with large tables that I'd like to do some analysis on. The PDFs were generated with Excel (I assume) but I can't figure out how to get them back INTO Excel.

The tables are sparse. Everything is in columns but there are no separators or column indicators, just visual alignment. If I copy and paste them into Excel or a text editor, it just pastes the populated columns separated by spaces.

It's easy enough to SEE the columns, but I can't figure out how to get them into proper Excel columns short of manually entering them. Any better suggestions?
