Hi,
I have a database that has 12000 rows and 22 columns of information

I would like to search for a term in Column F (say Information Technology) and copy the rows that matches the term in a new sheet on the same workbook.

I cannot use filter because the information in Column F can be :

Specialist, Information Technology
Information Technology Group
Application Development Information Technology Division etc

Other terms that I would like to search separately are :

Systems Network
Technical Technology

That is, one sheet of extracted data for Information Technology,Systems Network,Technical Technology.

Appreciate help on this

You did not make a convincing case for why you cannot use a filter. AutoFilter has built-in custom criteria for "contains", "does not contain", "starts with", "ends with", etc., which you can do yourself by using a wildcard asterisk ( * ). And using AdvanceFilter gives more flexibility yet. Post back and tell us what else is going on in your sheet that prohibits the use of a filter, because so far it looks like you can use it, and it's among the most efficiant and quick methods for doing just what you want. This is especially germaine given all those 12,000 rows that would be inefficient to loop through individually.
