Search Formula :-( Urgent Help Required.

Dear All ,

I want a formula where in Sheet1 col .A1 "SINGH PAWAN MR" But in Sheet2 col.A1 = PAWAN KUMAR in B1= 9500

what i want is if i can search Sheet 1 A1= "SINGH PAWAN MR" = 9500 by any formula.

please help if any formula can find this it will be very help full for me .

ok noone have replied one of my friend told fuzzy lookup tool from micrisoft is the answer.

you could do 2 searches one for singh and one for pawan and decide on your own rule to determine how to proceed. Is Kumar another name ?

in engish names if you have fred smith, you could search another sheet for "fred smith", "fred" and "smith"

so you might get fred jones and tom smith assuming there is no fred smith................

also- show us a few rows of the data you will be searching - make up names if you need to........
