Searching a directory and returning file names

I have a directory set up with individual excel files for 400 different clients. In each file, cell B3 is the last date MM/DD/YY that we contacted each client. Starting with a blank spreadsheet, what would it take to search the directory and return the filenames for any file where the value of cell B3 is within a specified date range?

Thanks,

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Wow, that is a hard one. I guess you'll need a lookup table, but I don't know how you'll get it into every spread sheet.

Consider this a bump while I did around ...

This can be done with a standard Dir function loop (see the example in Dir help), with a Workbooks.Open for each file (record a macro for one file to generate the code) and compare cell B3 against the date range.
