Secondary Axis with a Bar Chart Problem

Hello, I have two series of data that I want to show in the same bar chart. One series has numbers in the low double digits (10 - 40 or so). The other series of data is in the 5 digits. For example

Item codes Quantity On Hand Total Weight on Hand
490000 10 17,000
490001 25 22,000
490003 30 16,000

Since there is such a huge range with those value series putting them on the same axis isn't very helpful. I figured I'd put one of them on a secondary axis with an appropriate range. However, when I do that it is stacking the columns. I don't want them stacked, I want them side by side but with one on the primary axis and the other on the secondary axis.

Please help!

Paul

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Unbelievably helpful, thanks so much! This seems really overly complicated for such a simple thing, but a great workaround. Hopefully excel patches this little quirk.

You're welcome. I agree should be a simple thing to do.

Still coming back to this more than a year later. Brilliant video. Still think it's a bug though.
