hi can someone help with a macro that just copies the used range on the active sheet
also is the away to code the macro to work with ctrl + S without using the view macro option to set it so in other words its actually written into the code

2) yes, but don't do it, this is what people expect to use for saving their work! You could assign shift + ctrl + C (for copy) instead if you wanted. Once your macro is complete, use the macros menu on the toolbar to assign the shortcut key
