I have results showing as a serial number and then use the formula

=MINUTES(A2)

to convert to the total number of minutes. However, if the result goes past 60 minutes it gives an errroneous answer. Any ideas on how to get the actual number of minutes? I had also looked for a cell format that just shows minutes but excel does not seem to have one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Hi and welcome to the board!!

Can you post an example of what your "serial number" looks like? Also, how is your cell formatted?
