Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me with my problem.

I have four cells, A1, B1, C1, D1. i enter values in A1 & B1 which are summed in C1 and depending on the result conditional formatting will set the colour of the cell (C1).

Then D1 reared it's ugly head. I need cell D1 to contain no value, but change to the same colour as C1 - and if the values in A1, B1 change and C1's fill colour changes - for D1 to also change.

I'm guessing it will have to be done through VBA, and am hoping someone might be able to help as it's not my strongest point.

Thanks,
David.

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Can't you use the same CF in D1 as C1. Or use a CF formula like

=C1>10

for example.

Welcome to MrExcel!

If I have understood correctly, you should not need vba, just apply exactly the same Conditional Formatting to D1 as you have to C1.

What do you actually have in D1? If a formula, what formula?

What is the Conditional Formatting rule in C1?
