I setup tabbing by pressing ctl/left click on the cells where data is entered. But I need to clear the data for every job. When I clear the data the tabbing to specific cells ends. I need to clear the data but keep the tabbing working.

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Possibly holding the control key while clearing would work (my best guess, anyway, as I've some difficulty working out exactly what you mean here) Good luck!

I have the worksheet setup that when I press the tab key on my computer that it will move from D9 to K9 to K10 to K11 to B17 to E17 to J17 to to B21 then back to D9 for me to enter data. After I am finished with that particular job I need to clear the data I entered so I can enter new data. When I clear the data, The tabbing I have setup no longer works. It only moves from D9 to E9 to F9 to G9. The tabbing no longer skips the cell I don't use. I setup the tabbing by holding the Ctrl key down while left clicking on the cells I need to enter the data in. then I unlocked the cells then I setup share & protect workbook. I need it to keep tabbing to the cells I use after I clear the old data so I can enter new data, every time I cear the cells.

I've received a huge amount of help from reading other people's posts here in the past but have never actually posted before. Anyway I'd like to offer a possible explanation to this question.

I managed to replicate Jimbo's "tabbing" effect in those cells but it only worked for me when Sheet Protection was turned on in the Tools Menu. Perhaps Jimbo, you're using VB to clear the cells and it it's turning Protection off to begin with and then not turning it back on again before it finishes.

Hope this helps.

I got it to work by: after picking which cells to tab through I protected the sheet, then I shared and protected the workbook. Thank you for bring up about protecting the sheet.

It's good to know you found the answer.

One other thing which you might or might not already know about, if you go into the worksheet properties in the VB editor you can set the EnableSelection property to 1-xlUnlockedCells which, when the worksheet is protected, will only allow unlocked cells to be selected. If you unlock your "tabbing" cells you will then be able to move through them by pressing either Return or Enter, or still use Tab if you prefer. No other cells can be selected though.

I found this in the forum recently when I had a similar problem to yours. In Office 2000 which we use at work this setting kept turning off everytime I closed the workbook so I made an autoexecute sub-routine turn it on when the sheet was activated.

Good luck.
