I need to be able from muti desktop shortcut open a workbook to different work sheets with in the workbook .. any ideas

Guys I could use your help .... I need to open a specific work sheet from a desktop icon into a work book.

Hi to clarify:

You need to double click to open an excel workBOOK and have it open on a specific sheet?

yes that is what im looking for and to have multi shortcuts to different sheets in that work book, but i want to do it with out the use of macros

try:

c:\path\Workbook.xls#SheetName!a1

as the target of the shortcut

Not sure there is a way to assign shortcuts to activate specific sheets without using VBA unless anyone else has a solution....a couple of ideas perhaps............

A) Open your worksheet and use the macro recorder to record yourself activating the sheets you wish add a shortcut to each one. Although it uses VBA you could always use the Ctrl + XX shortcut keys to access the sheet you require

B) Create a summary sheet at the front of your workbook with a hyperlink to all the sheets within the book.
