Hello,
I need help making a chart that shows usage of a product from when it was first purchased up to todays date. The idea is a manager will be able to pull the transaction history, paste it into the correct area, and the chart will pop up giving them a clear visual of whats going on. However, I can't seem to make it do what I want. Here is an example:

Date Transaction Quantity Lot #
03/15/2009 ADD 2 1000
07/23/2009 USED 1 1000
07/30/2009 ADD 1 1010
01/15/2010 Expired - Discarded 1 1000
01/30/2010 ADD 1 1020

This is exactly what their data would look like, and we are assuming they don't know how to do anything other than copy and paste. The Column Chart will show them the usage history and show them we have not used this item since July 2009, and that it may be obsolete.

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Hi malbrianloy!

Welcome to the forums.

Perhaps a chart is not the best choice for this type of report. If your Data is only 5 lines long, perhaps a conditional format or popup that this hasn't been used since x date.

The only thing i can think of graphically that would make sense is to do 1 of 2 things:

1) Create a running total of inventory Graph the Date with the Running total as a Column Chart

or

2) Create a waterfall chart: http://peltiertech.com/WordPress/excel-waterfall-charts-bridge-charts/
