Is there any significant difference between pivot tables in Access and Excel, or are they basically the same?

I see in Excel there is data field, while there isn't in Access. I haven't felt any practical impact from that so far though.

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
In Access there are five areas: row, column, filter (page), data, and detail data. Also, you can have string data in the detail area, because you can summarize by the functions First and Last.

But you can't easily save the pivot-table layout -- you have to click-and-drag the fields every time! I actually had to create a table with FormName and XMLData fields and go through writing VBA code to store the form's PivotTable.XMLData there when the form closes, and then read the table when the form opens.
