# simple condition - if A1=A2 then B1=B2

Should be strightforward, but having mental block today.

I have 2 columns. Column A always has a value. Every second field in ColumnB is blank.

A1: = 25 B1: = <blank>
A2: = 25 B2: = 100
A3: = 30 B3: = <blank>
A4: = 30 B4: = 128

I want to copy the value in B2 to B1 if A2 equals A1.

Thanks for any help.

The formula in B1 should be...

=if(A2=A1,B2,0)

Try this in B1

=if(a2=a1,b2,"")

Click the header for column B and choose Edit|Go To|Special Blanks. In the Formula Bar type:

=IF(A1=A2,B2,"")

hold down Ctrl and press Enter.
