Hi Guys,

I have a list of number ID's in column A, and then in colum B I have either "POST" or "BLOG". What I need is a formula in column C that will tell me the ID of a BLOG when it's followed by a POST

For example:

A B C
1* BLOG
2 POST *1
3 POST *1
4 POST *1
5 BLOG
6* BLOG
7 POST *6
8* BLOG
9 POST *8
10 POST *8

Appreciate any help

Rob

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I'm assuming the * were put in to just call attention to what you wanted displayed, let me know if that's not the case. Start this formula in C2 and copy down:

=IF(B2="BLOG","",IF(AND(B1="POST",B2="POST"),C1,A1))
