I want to create a formula which will calculate an hourly rate.

=c1*27.71

the column 'c 'shall stay the same but row number 1 should then go to 2, then 3, then 4 etc.

I then want to copy and paste this down the column.

Any help greatly appreciated :)

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Welcome to the forums!

You can lock Column and Row references by putting a "$" in front of them.

So to lock the formula so that column C does not change, no matter where the formula is placed, try:

=$C1*27.71

Also, you can press F4 with a highlighted part of your equation and it will auto lock the row and column. You can keep pressing it to lock both one or the other or none. Nifty trick to save time.
