I have lots of Employee ID's in Column B
E.g.

<table style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 96pt;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="128"><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64" span="2"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt; width: 48pt;" width="64" height="20">
</td> <td style="width: 48pt;" width="64">Column B</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 1</td> <td>ID</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 2</td> <td class="xl66">600549</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 3</td> <td class="xl66">600610</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 4</td> <td class="xl66">600671</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 5</td> <td class="xl66">600732</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 6</td> <td class="xl66">600793</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 7</td> <td class="xl66">600793</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Row 8</td> <td class="xl66">
</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
If I enter new ID in Cell B8, then I need a lookup formula which will look through the column B (through $B$1:B7) & check if the ID is already used or not. If ID is used excel should tell "ID is already in use, please select different ID", if it's not used then cell should show blank.
Formula will be entered in column A.

Please let me know if you need any more info.
