Sorry I'm VBA challenged.

Focusing on columns D,E and G among others in a spreadsheet. 200 rows
Need a macro (not an if statement) that if the value in G1>1700 then
the value in D1= the value in E1. Else do nothing. And so forth down the sheet.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Code:
Sub small_loop()

    Dim lRow As Long

    For lRow = 1 To Range("G" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row

        If Range("G" & lRow).Value > 1700 Then
            Range("D" & lRow).Value = Range("E" & lRow).Value
        End If

    Next

End Sub
