Hey all, should be an easy one for everyone this but i'm stumped.

I basically want to put the formula on the second line below into a cell, but when it runs it does'nt put it in the cell, just leaves it blank.

currentcontents = Range("D5").Value
Range("D1").Formula = "=Data!$C$31*" & currentcontents

Many Thanks, Pete

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
You did not address the issue of missing data.
Code:
Sub t()
  Dim sVal As String
  sVal = CStr(Range("D5").Value)
  If sVal = "" Then sVal = "1"
 Range("D1").Formula = "=Data!$C$31*" & sVal
End Sub
