hi, i am new to pivot tables and it looks like the answer should be obvious but i can't seem to get it to work.

i have a table with 3 column headings lastname firstname and hrsworked. i want the pivot table to sort by last name then first name and then sum the hrs worked, BUT i want the first name to be to the right of the lastname, not underneath it.

i tried to put the first name in the column field but that's not how i want it to look. i'd appreciate any help. i am using windows 7 and excel 2010.

it should look like this

lastname firstname sum of hrsworked

thx

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
