Simple Question: Converting duration of 47:58:00 minutes so it doesn't read as clock and date.

I can't figure out to format a column so when I enter the duration of our bike ride, say for 47 minutes and 33 seconds, that's all that will be there. No matter how I format it, the number reflects the clock time and the date. I want to format the number just as text. It is duration of our ride and nothing else. I have tried every formatting thing I could find in the format cells dialog box. I would just like it to be text. No other calculations will be made from it. (Sometimes our rides go over an hour. Right now I am just using minutes like 65. I can't figure out to get it to read an hour and minutes.)

I am not an Excel guru so if this has to be done VBA could someone show me the code. I do understand how to get that into the VBA area as I can modify simple macros.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you really want it as text then format the cells as text before you input anything, then just input 47:33:00 or similar
