Hi,

I'm making a basic spreadsheet with simple formulas and I'm drawing a blank. I have a formula with simple math =A4+B3. I would like to include this formula for the whole column, yet when I do that it repeats the answer for the last row with an entry. (See the "40" below). How can I get the formula to be there, but not the "40"? I hope this makes sense.

A BOB 16 16 7
A 2nd 12 28 3
A 2nd 12 40 3
40
40
40
40
40

Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

Cannot discern in your example data what is A4 and what is B3.

Try something like this.
=IF(OR(A4="",B3=""),"",A4+B3)
