Please advice on what is the correct procedure to sum and substract....
Few cells needs to be added and then substracted from too...
all of them gives same result though...

=F14+G14+H14+I14+J14-L14-M14-N14
=SUM(F14:J14)-L14-M14-N14
=SUM(F14:J14)-SUM(L14:N14)

All three formulas do the same thing, the third one is the most concise.

As long as you don't plan on changing the formula to include division/multiplication, all three are exactly the same.

Not sure what your question is...

I thought the first way of calculation might give inaccurate result sometime...just a thought...by just looking at it.
I think there is a a proper procedure we need to follow;

for example instead of =S10+T10+U10 we to use =SUM(S10:U10)...:)

There is actually no question..i just needed to confirm if there is any correct procedure we need to follow for this kinda formula...

Thanks again

As we all know there are many ways to skin the same cat...

None of the 3 methods are right or wrong, they all work.

However, an advantage to using SUM(S10:U10) instead of S10+T10+U10 besides the obvious "it's easier to write/read"
Is that SUM will ignore text values.

So if there is a text value in any of the 3 cells, SUM ignores it and sums the rest.
But the S10+T10+U10 will result in a #VALUE! error.

Hope that helps.
