Slicers

I'm working with the new slicers and loving them. I was hoping someone could help me with a little problem.

I have 3 slicers driving multiple pivot tables (slicer 1, slicer 2 and slicer 3)

I'm looking for slicer 2 to determine the default of slicer 3, but then slicer 3 continue to be totally independent of slicer 2.

Because slicer 1 and slicer 2 are linked to the same pivot tables, making a selection in slicer 1 impacts what's selected on slicer 2. To put it another way, if I select a 'Customer' from slicer 1, it impacts the 'Markets' shown in slicer 2.

Slicer 3 is also 'Markets'. It's pulled from the same data source, but it drives a different pivot table.

What I'd like to do is have the 'Markets' that are selected in slicer 2 also be selected in slicer 3. BUT...I want the ability to change slicer 3 at my discretion.

We have numerous 'Markets' and trying to get 2 slicers to equal each other while still remaining independent is very time consuming. I have to manually select the markets on slicer 3.

Although my reasoning for doing this may be confusing, I hope my request makes sense.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Not sure if I fully understand your problem, but here is what I am thinking may help.

Go to pivot table connections and check the box for pivot table 3. This will allow the market slicer used for pivot 1 and 2, to work on pivot 3. Then when you do not want the market slicer to work on pivot 3, uncheck the box for pivot 3 in the pivot tables connection. You can then make your market selections manually

Correction on my earlier post.

Where I stated pivot table connections, that should be slicer connections.
