Hello all. I have an excel spreadsheet. Only the first row has links to other spreadsheets. When I try to open this worksheet it takes 10 minutes to open then it asks if I want to update the links. I say no, but why is it taking so long to open originally? Any thoughts?

Excel Facts

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
How many sheets fo you have in it?
How many array formulas?
How many data are in each sheet?
That's all can slow down opening of your worksheet.
Try to switch off Automatic Calcualtion if you want the sheet to open faster.

Thanks I'll see if the turning off the auto helps. I don't think the formulas are as much of a problem as external links are. Thanks again.
