Slow update... please help!

I have a spreadsheet that uses vlookup and a lot of data validation. The problem is when data is changed it takes 10 seconds or so to recalculate/update. Scrolling is also very slow making the use of the spreadsheet very frustrating. At home on my pc it works fine. At work this problem occured "suddenly." I have tried the spreadsheet on severl computers with the same problem. I'm wondering if our IT department installed a patch/update that could cause this. Any ideas? Thanks

You can try to change calculation from automatic to manual

Really need automatic calculation. Starting to think the pc at work is very underpowered.
