hmmmm..... this has me stumped : visually, it's simple but formulaeically, I can't quite get it.

How would I calculate the longest contiguous series of a number ?

My data *is* this simple, just "1"s and "0"s..... so in the above example, the longest series of "1"s would be 4, whilst the longest series of "0"s would be 7

No offence to the VBA experts, but I'm after a formula-based solution, and this is recreational problem, not work-related, so no priority whatsoever

don't wy time on this..... I was being WAY too thick.... it's really easy

just a simple "if" the number is = the number above it, then add 1 to the number above

then just do a MAX on the whole range, or a MIN to find longest and shortest streaks....
