Solver add in and or Multiple Discriminate Analysis (MDA)

Hello everyone,

I am trying to run a model and I would like to see which variables have predicitve (or discriminate) characteristics toward a certain group over another.

I know I can go buy the software that does this but I am broke!! hehehe

So does anyone know how explain solver better then the help menu and or is it possible to run an (MDA) in excel? or is there somewhere where I can purchase an add-in for excel that would possibly be cheaper than buying an actual software package?
