Hi, I am using excel 2003, I want to know how sort data in various columns in ascending or descending order. My data is like this :

a b c d e f
1 12 4 11 27 35 20
2 9 17 4 23 29 35
3 3 8 23 17 29 26

After sorting I want result like this :-

1 4 11 12 20 27 35
2 4 9 17 23 29 35
3 3 8 17 23 26 29

Thanks in advance

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
In the Sort dialog click Options and check 'Sort left to right'. To get the result you want you will need to sort one row at a time.

You can use a formula in say H1 (or wherever you want) and filled right/down as needed
=SMALL($A1:$F1,COLUMNS($A1:A1))

Once you have the result, you can copy the formula cells, and paste special / values over the top of the original.
