sorting after protection

I have a worksheet that has a list of data with autofilter on the header row. All of the cells on the sheet are locked. I want to password protect the sheet but still allow users to sort and use the auto filter.

After I go to tools/protection/protect sheet and check the boxes with sort and auto filter then type in my password, users are only able to sort by entry. They cannot "sort ascending" or "sort descending". For example if one of the columns has "red, blue, green" The user can sort by selecting "red" but can't sort them in ascending order.

Is there something that I am doing wrong or is there no way to "sort ascending/descending" after protection has been enforced?

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
