i have a list of numbers, 3A-1 thru 3A-30. When I sort my numbers on my table, 3A-10 would be behind 3A-1 instead of 3A-2. How do I sort my column so all numbers will fall in order.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
use a helper column. If your first line of numbers is in row 3, then in C3 enter the formula

=RIGHT(B3,LEN(B3)-FIND("-",B3))*1

drag that down and then sort on that new column
