I'm getting my data from SQL Server Analysis Services Database. It takes appreciably more time to load data thru Power Query rather than Power Pivot even thought the results and actions taken are the same.
As i prefer to load data into Power Query is there some optimizing method that would save the time. Also i would like to know how exactly does the Power Query gets the data.
I'm sort of new to BI.

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
A Step by Step guide to installing SQL Server 2008 simply and successfully with no prior knowledge Developers and system administrators will find this installation guide useful, as will seasoned DBAs. It will teach you the basics required for a typical, problem-free installation of SQL Server 2008, allowing you to add other components later if you wish.

I have seen the same behaviour. I mentioned it to Miguel Llopes at PASS BA Conf this year - he hadn't heard of it. He asked me to send a sample, but I have been too busy. If you have something you can share, maybe you can send a frown. I think something is wrong, and the difference is horrible in my view.
