How can I split cells data to two cells. I tried the delimiter, but it does not work, or maybe I am not doing properly.

A1 B1 C1
20.5 - 29.9 20.5 29.9

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thank!

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Try TextToColumns with two delimiters, space and -.

What do you mean by "doesn't work"? Do you mean does nothing or does something odd.

I forgot to mention that the one A! cell is merge and center, so the delimeted does not let me work on a merge cell, so I try to copy to another cell and I get the "formula" from cell A1 on the delimiter, not the actual data.

So Mike, I was posting my second post when I noticed you had posted a answer. I tried what you suggested, but I think the problem is that the cell is merged and it does not work. The way the data is place in the sheet, I do not think I can undo the merge cell. Any other suggestions?

What is the expected output - you have 4 numbers - but only want tw0 outputs - that dont make sense - You have to state the logic you want to apply

In cell A1 I have a range 20.1 to 29.9. This number is always changing based input from another cell. I want to split cell A1 data, so cell D1 has 20.1 and cell F1 has 29.9. If I type 20.1 to 29.9 in cell F100 the delimiter works, but since the information on cell A1 is retrived from a Vlookup table and is merge with cell B1 here is the problem

1. Excel does not let me delimite merge cells.
2. If I put =A1 on a cell A8 and try to use the delimiter, the Vlookup formula appears on the the delimiter and I try to get the results, but it does not work. can it be done using vba? I hope I explain my self better. If does can't be done, I really do appreciate the help!
