Split panes

I used split panes to see two sides separately. Is there a way to lock the rows on one side but not the other? In other words, I am matching information in Column E, which goes from row 5 to row 20, with information in Column C, which goes from row 5 to row 200. I need to be able to 'lock' the side with Column C.

Thanks!

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
I don't think it can be done with Split Frames.

If I understand correctly, you could try this.
(my version Excel 2007)

1. View > New Window
this creates a copy of your sheet with a :2 after the name of the sheet
2. View > Arrange All > Vertical
this places the two sheets side by side operating independently for scrolling. Note: any change you make on one will effect the other.

3. After you do your "work", close the sheet with the :2 at the end of the name.

Hope that helps
