Hi, I have a column wich contains surname and initials. Is there any way I can split this into 2 different columns. I am doing this manually at the moment but takes a long time if you have to do 17000 lines. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

I take it there is a space or comma between surname and initial? If so, try this.

Highlight your column. Choose Data, Text to Columns.

This opens the Convert text to columns wizard. Choose a data type of delimited and then Next.

Choose either space or comma depending on how your data is formatted.

Click Finish. How's that?
