This has got to be easy!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
I use Excel 2003.
On the actual spreadsheet tabs (Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3 ...), I am unable to utilise the Insert, Delete, Rename, Move or Copy commands. They are greyed out. The Select All option is available.
The actual Workbook is protected to open and modify.
The attributes and permissions to the Workbook look fine.
If there something in Tools -> Options, I should be aware off?
Any help will be gratefully received.
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Gary

Good morning.

No, I applied the protection using Save As -> goto Tools tab in the Save As screen and clicked on General Options.

I understand this is the same as utilising Tools -> Options -> Security within the actual Workbook.

Regards.

Can you check that someone hasn't inadvertantly applied workbook protection though - if you go Tools>Protection it should be obvious as it will have "Unprotect Workbook" if it is already applied.

Sorted!
The Workbook was protected by someone in error!!!
Makes sense that the commands were unavailable.
Thanks for your prompt response.
