This is the function I am using,

IF(C1=0, "", TODAY())

This works, however as you can see the resulting date will change. I would like the date to be fixed and not change.

Would appreciate your help

............... Thanks, Gene Gould OD

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.

Seems like an awfully complex way to do something that you could just type in the cell using maybe 8 keystrokes.

Maybe I'm missing something, but couldn't you just use:

=IF(C1=0, "", DATEVALUE("10/17/02"))

I developed a macro for many of our people, then assigned it to a button. This one inputs Today() in cell G1, then copies, and Paste Special.

Sub CopyToday
Range("G1").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=TODAY()"
Range("G1").Select
Selection.Copy
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
ActiveSheet.Paste
Application.CutCopyMode = False
Range("A1").Select
End Sub

That could done with one line of code:

Code:
Sub CopyToday()
    Range("G1").Value = Format(Date, "Short Date")
End Sub

nice bit of code andrew, a question for you.

Is this possible if you enter a value, e.g 2 in column "G2" the date going back 2 days and so on?
