How do you stop the clock???

Cell 1 Today () function
Cell 2 Beginning Date
Cell 3 End Date
The above are IMPUT DATA CELLS

Cell 4 Results # days between cell 2 & 3
Cell 5 Counts down the # of days left from the amount in cell 4

Now this all works perfectly, however, when cell 5 gets to "0" it continues to count all subsequent days as negative days ie. -1 -2 -3 etc. HOW DO YOU STOP THE CLOCK AT zero days left??

Thank You, Gene Gould OD

I'm not certain i understand what your program does, but it sounds as if Cell C5=C1-C4. If so, would this work for you:

If((c1-c4)>0,c1-c4,"Day Has Past")

This would perform the calculation C1-C4, and if it's greater than zero, it'll put that value in cell C5. If it's not greater than zero, it'll show "Day Has Past". If you'd rather have a "0" than the text i selected, you can just put a "0" in place of the text, without using the quotes.

Also, with the above formula, if the calculation equals zero, it'll say the day has already past. If you want it to show zero, you can change the formula as follows:

If((c1-c4)<0,"Day Has Past",c1-c4)

Does that do what you want?

The reply gives me a large number and not "0"

The function I am using is
IF(OR(J4=0, C3=0), "days left", J4-C2)
Below are the actual cell designations:
C2 ..... Clock [Today ()]
C3 ..... Beginning Date
J4 ..... End Date
J5 ..... # of days in the schedule
J6 ..... counts down the days left on the schedule

Thank You for your time, Gene

Don't want to leave you hanging, but i just saw your reply and i won't have time to play around with it today.

I'm fairly certain the problem lies within formatting and the way Excel looks at dates. If this urgent, i'd play around with the format or review the HELP for how Excel looks at dates.

If you still have a problem, repost (to bring up to the top to remind me) and hopefully i'll have some time tomorrow to play around with it.

Thanhs for the come- back, I'll do as you suggest and see if "Help" would help.

If I am still in trouble, I'll advise.

................ Once again, ....Thanks. Gene
