I am trying to combine a list of over 1,000 cells into 1 cells. what is the easiest way of doing this? Usually, I would just use the & operator but obviously there are too many cells to do it with that. If it is possible to do this in MS visual basic, please let me know as well. Thanks!!

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Hi and welcome to the Board:)

It is possible in VB with a UDF, paste the following into a general module:

Code:
Public Function MultiCat( _
        ByRef rRng As Excel.Range, _
        Optional ByVal sDelim As String = "") _
             As String
     Dim rCell As Range
     For Each rCell In rRng
         MultiCat = MultiCat & sDelim & rCell.Text
     Next rCell
     MultiCat = Mid(MultiCat, Len(sDelim) + 1)
  End Function

And call the formula as shown below:

<b>Excel 2007</b><table cellpadding="2.5px" rules="all" style=";background-color: #FFFFFF;border: 1px solid;border-collapse: collapse; border-color: #A6AAB6"><colgroup><col width="25px" style="background-color: #E0E0F0" /><col /><col /><col /><col /></colgroup><thead><tr style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;text-align: center;color: #161120"><th></th><th>A</th><th>B</th><th>C</th><th>D</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">2</td><td style="text-align: right;;">1</td><td style="text-align: right;;">2</td><td style="text-align: right;;">3</td><td style=";">1 2 3</td></tr></tbody></table><p style="width:3.6em;font-weight:bold;margin:0;padding:0.2em 0.6em 0.2em 0.5em;border: 1px solid #A6AAB6;border-top:none;text-align: center;background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120">Sheet1</p><br /><br /><table width="85%" cellpadding="2.5px" rules="all" style=";border: 2px solid black;border-collapse:collapse;padding: 0.4em;background-color: #FFFFFF" ><tr><td style="padding:6px" ><b>Worksheet Formulas</b><table cellpadding="2.5px" width="100%" rules="all" style="border: 1px solid;text-align:center;background-color: #FFFFFF;border-collapse: collapse; border-color: #A6AAB6"><thead><tr style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120"><th width="10px">Cell</th><th style="text-align:left;padding-left:5px;">Formula</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><th width="10px" style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120">D2</th><td style="text-align:left">=MultiCat(<font color="Blue">A2:C2," "</font>)</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></table><br />

code from Macgimpsey I believe:-)

Cheers,
Ian

I tried pasting the code into a module and entering the formula provided. The cell returned #NAME?

What should I do - would it be possible to explain each section of the formula so I can see how to change if neccessary. as you can see if am new to functions and VBA!
