Hi There

This might be a stupid one but it has me baffeld. Why is it that when you do a text to column convertion it so happens that when you paste another set of data in the same workbook that it is automatically delimited.

I found that when I delimit a set of data using : as the delimiter and the paste another set of data that also contains : it is delimited automatically by excel.

This is anoying because I have to close Excel down after each delimit action I do to stop it from delimiting automatically.

Is there a way of stopping it from doing this?

I need to stop the feature becaus I have to paste different lists of data with the same format into the same column and then run a macro that does the text to columns feature as well as other functions all in one go.

The problem I have with the automatic text to columns split is that it ****s up my Makro as well as the data that is initially pasted the second and third and forth.....times. you get the picture.

My Data looks like this:
JS-JB-DP-0001:CELM

I use text to columns twice in my macro.
1st-I use : as the delimiter
2nd-I use - as the delimiter

Now what happens is when I clear the sheet of all data and I paste a new list in column B it is automatically delimited by - (which was my last delimiter used)

I do not whant this to happen because it screws around with my calculations.

Any ideas!!!

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

Did you not see my post regarding Paste Special>All?

Frans,

I bet your macro could be edited to remove that behavior if you post it.
