Hello All,
As usually I'm at the limit of my excel knowledge...

I need a bar chart where one bar is subdivided into its component values.

Ex:
Apple: 8--3 gala, 4 mcintosh, 1 granny smith
Oranges: 7
Bananas: 1
Kiwi: 0
Blueberries: 1

Again, only the "apples" bar will be subdivided

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
make your table like this, merge two cells for the column apple, then the types of apple go in the first column under it, the number goes in the 2nd column. then highlight all the cells and choose a stacked column graph.

apple orange banana kiwi blueberry
gala 3 1 1 1 1
mac 4
granny 1

Thanks for your reply, this works but the chart formatting is bizarre.. The data is interpreted as series based on type of apple. So data to non-apple fruits are tied to gala, eg series gala point orange value 1, etc.

What I need would look like this (WXYZ,ABC are individual colors)
Blueberry W
Orange
