Hello wonderful people,

If anyone can help me with below please -

I have got A Column - under A column in row 1 I got example - 8,02,473.48
I have got A Column - under A column in row 2 I got example - 4,000.00
I have got A Column - under A column in row 3 I want sum of above but result should come with commas like 8,04,743.48 how can I get sum or subtract as well with commas in number.

Sometimes , my no range is less than 100 thousand like 3,000 less 230 = result should come still with commas.

Thanks so much

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
but result should come with commas like 8,04,743.48 how can I get sum or subtract as well with commas in number.
Have you tried formatting the cell or column in "Comma Style"?

You repeat this in your first post. I am not familiar with a two-digit column separator.

Here is the format cells dialog:

it is hard to know what you did wrong when you just say "gives errors".
Mr. Excel has a tool called xl2bb that allows you to post mini worksheets. Using that we will be able to see what you have done to get the error.

when you enter the numbers are you typing in the actual comma? And have you made sure your cell is not formatted as TEXT?
Do you type only two characters between the first two commas? There are SO MANY things you could be doing wrong and the forum has no idea.

if you cannot use the xl2bb (usually because of employer system restrictions) then do these steps.
1. IN ANOTHER SECTION of your worksheet:
2. Select Cells C1:C3,
3. ensure the format is GENERAL. (While those cells are still selected, right click, select format cells from the pop up menu, select GENERAL in the dialog, click ok)
4. IN the alignment section of the menu be sure the horizontal alignment is also general (not left, right, or center)
5. Enter your numbers in cells C1 and C2
6. Do your arithmetic in C3
7. Then select cells C1:C3, and using the same procedure as in step 2, change the format to NUMBER, and Click the box beside "thousands" separator.

If that doesn't work please copy and paste the 3 cells into a table and also screenshot the format cells dialog when the one of the 3 cells is the selected cell.
Also, give the formula that is in cell C3.
