Sum top 12 or 18 cells

Hi,

In Col A to Col R, I have a number of various values.
Say 100, 30000, 24,10000, 2 etc etc.

I would like to find a formula that would sum the highest 12 values of those 18.

I want this figure to update everytime these values are changed.

Can you think of how to do this in formula? Without VBA?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Will all the numbers be different ( i.e. will there not be a tie for the 12th highest value )?

Assuming data in A2:R2 maybe this

=SUMPRODUCT(LARGE($A$2:$R$2,ROW(INDIRECT("1:12"))))

Hi,

try the formula below

=SUM(LARGE(A4:N4,{1;2;3;4;5;6;7;8;9;10;11;12}))

Thsi assumes your range is in A4 thru N4, i only used 14 values but it will work for a greater range of cells.
