I am trying to get a multiple if formula to work.

I need to look in A:A for all cells that =Y
Then in those cells look in B:B for all cells that =2
then in those cells look in C:C for cells that =21

And for the ones that match all 3 criteria sum the cells in D:D

Any help appreciated

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Something like this. But I would change the column references to your actual ranges.

=SUMIFS(D:D,A:A,"y",B:B,2,C:C,21)

Use the SUMPRODUCT function. It is easier to understand and a bit more straight-forward.

Depends on your data size. SUPRODUCT may slow down your spreadsheet's calculations. If you decide to use SUMPRODUCT, then definitely change the column references to your actual range.
